Zu Lebzeiten eher ein Außenseiter der westdeutschen Literaturszene, gilt Rolf Dieter Brinkmann (1940-1975) inzwischen als einer der innovativsten Autoren der Gegenwartsliteratur. Er findet zunehmend Anerkennung als Vorreiter einer deutschen Popliteratur, einflussreicher Vermittler amerikanischer Underground-Literatur und Schöpfer neuer intermedialer Formen. Das Seminar soll einen Überblick über Brinkmanns facettenreiches Schaffen, das von Lyrik und Prosa über Essays bis zu Hörspielen reicht, vermitteln und ihn literatur- und kulturgeschichtlich einordnen.
