Die Depression ist die häufigste psychische Störung, und wurde deshalb auch als der "Schnupfen der Psychologie" bezeichnet. Diese Bezeichnung verharmlost diese Störung, so ist die Depression ein in der Regel chronische Krankheit mit erheblicher Funktionsbeeinträchtigung und einer der Hauptursachen für Suizide. Das Seminar macht die Teilnehmer mit traditionellen und neueren Entwicklungen der Epidemiologie und Ätiologie der Depression vertraut.
