Computersimulationen sind hervorragende Werkzeuge für die Untersuchung
von Systemen, die aus mehreren, einfachen und gut verstandenen
Teilsystemen aufgebaut sind, deren Zusammenspiel jedoch ein sehr
komplexes Verhalten erzeugen kann. Derartige Systeme kommen in vielen
Zusammenhängen vor: Planetensysteme, Flüssigkeiten, metabolische
Netzwerke, die Ausbreitung von Epidemien, Straßenverkehr,
Prozessmodelle, Computernetzwerke usw.Der Schwerpunkt des Seminars wird auf verschiedenen
Simulationstechniken und deren Anwendung liegen (Monte-Carlo
Simulationen, Differentialgleichungslöser, zelluläre Automaten und
ereignisgesteuerte Simulationen). Andererseits werden wir uns auch mit
Fragestellungen der Modellbildung von komplexen Systemen beschäftigen:
Unter welchen Umständen ist die Modellierung eines solchen Systems
überhaupt sinnvoll? Welche Eigenschaften sollte ein solches Modell
haben?Voraussetzung für den Scheinerwerb ist ein ca. 45-minütiger Vortrag
sowie eine schriftliche Ausarbeitung. Die Ausarbeitungen werden zu
einem Reader der Veranstaltung zusammengefasst.

Naturwissenschaftliche Informatik im Hauptstudium.
