Das Seminar beleuchtet den Zusammenhang zwischen der Geschichte pädagogischer Theorien, der Schule, der Bildung und des sozialen Systems Erziehung. Das Seminar bietet eine Grundlage zum Verständnis der „gewachsenen“ Pädagogik und darüber hinaus auch der verschiedenen Bildungselemente in unserer heutigen Gesellschaft.
