230396 Sachkunde Mittelalter (V) (WiSe 2015/2016)

Behandelt werden in der Vorlesung jene Themen, die immer wieder in Seminaren zur mittelalterlichen Literatur zur Sprache gebracht und zu kurz abgehandelt werden: Fragen zum kulturellen Umfeld, zur Gesellschaftsstruktur, zu den Mentalitäten, zum Weltbild, zu den Wissensvorgaben. Zu den Gegenständen zählen mittelalterliche Sachkunde (Burgenbau, Haushaltsausstattung, Bewaffnung und Kriegstechniken), Heraldik (Wappen und Siegel), Medizin (Temperamentenlehre, Kräuterkunde und 'Dreck'-Apotheke), die Jagd (viel wichtiger im Leben des Edelmannes als die Literatur und Musik!), Tischsitten, Ernährung, Vorstellungen von Tod, Zeit und Ewigkeit, Festkultur und Kleidung. An originalen Texten (die zweisprachig zur Verfügung des Plenums stehen) vertiefen wir die Kenntnisse dieser Sachgebiete aus der Sicht der mittelhochdeutschen Romanautoren. Die Vorlesung steht auch interessierten Hörern anderer Fächer offen (keine Vorkenntnisse erforderlich).
