360023 Die Sibyllinischen Orakel (S) (SoSe 2018)

Die Sibyllinischen Orakel bezeichnet eine Sammlung antiker Orakeltexte, die angeblich von einer Sibylle, einer paganen Prophetin, stammen. Tatsächlich aber sind diese Texte deutlich jüdischen bzw. christlichen Ursprungs. Damit sind sie interessante, aber eher vernachlässigte Quellen für das antike Judentum und auch Christentum.
In diesem Seminar sollen insbesondere die jüdischen Teile der Sibyllinischen Orakel besprochen werden. Dabei wird vor allem die Frage nach dem Verhältnis von Judentum und paganer Umwelt, wie es in diesen Texten behandelt wird, im Mittelpunkt des Seminars stehen. Aber auch andere Aspekte, etwa die Rezeption durch die Kirchenväter, sollen betrachtet werden.
Voraussetzung ist ein Interesse an weniger bekannten Texten und am antiken Judentum.
