Der eher informell angelegte zweite Teil der Veranstaltung befasst sich mit Argumentformen, induktiven Schlüssen und Fehlschlüssen. Dabei werden insbesondere diejenigen Aspekte von Argumenten in den Vordergrund gerückt, die sich nur unzulänglich mit den Mitteln der formalen Logik erfassen lassen. Nicht alle guten Gründe lassen sich als logisch gültige Folgerungen rekonstruieren, und nicht alle schlüssigen Argumente sind gute Begründungen. Darüber hinaus wird ein kurzer Überblick über die mittelalterliche Logik gegeben.
