Das Seminar wird einen zentralen Begriff der modernen Medizinethik und zugleich auch einen der wichtigsten moralphilosophischen Begriffe behandeln, den Begriff der Autonomie. Im ersten Teil des Seminars geht es generell um die Autonomie im Gesundheitswesen, in den weiteren Teilen dann um wichtige Anwendungskontexte: am Lebensende, am Lebensanfang und in besonderen Lebenslagen.
Basis für das Seminargespräch sind Texte, die in Moodle zur Verfügung gestellt werden und vorab gelesen werden müssen.

Requirements for participation, required level

Die Veranstaltung richtet sich primär an Master-Studierende der Philosophie, ist im Prinzip aber auch offen für BA-Studierende und für Studierende mit einem Hintergrund in den Gesundheitswissenschaften, die schon Vorkenntnisse im Bereich der medizinischen Ethik mitbringen und bereit sind, sich auf professionelle ethische Texte einzulassen. Sich vorab an die Dozent*innen zu wenden ist in diesem Fall empfehlenswert.
