Im Zentrum stehen die Übersetzung und (historische) Interpretation von Ciceros Spätwerk „de re publica“. Erwartet wird von den Teilnehmern neben der regelmäßigen Mitarbeit je eine Sitzungsvorbereitung, was die Erklärung des jeweiligen Textausschnittes in sprachlicher und historischer Hinsicht einschließt. Textgrundlage ist die Ausgabe in der Reihe Klett-Altsprachliche Texte. Bearbeitet von Heinz Gunnermann, Teil 1 und 2, Stuttgart u.a. 1999.
