"Was für ein Theater?", " Das war vielleicht wieder ein Drama gestern!", "Wir haben die Verhandlungen gut über die Bühne gebracht.": Dass Theater- und Dramenmetaphern so umfassend in unseren alltäglichen Sprachgebrauch eingegangen sind, hat die wissenschaftliche Auseinandersetzung mit Theater und Drama definitiv nicht erleichtert. Seit der Antike setzen sich Wissenschaftler*innen und Autor*innen mit dem Wesen des Dramas auseinander. Die Ansichten sindvielfältig und kulturell wie historisch verschieden. Im Seminar werden verschiedene (vorrangig deutschsprachige) dramentheoretische Texte diskutiert: von Aristoteles über Lessing zu Brecht bis zum postdramatischen Theater (Lehmann) werden wir versuchen, uns einen Überblick über die Geschichte der Dramentheorie zu erarbeiten und so den eigenen Forschungsblick auf dramatische Primärtexte schärfen.
