Geschichte und moderne Methoden der Entwicklungsbiologie. Geschichte der Embryologie. Klassische und moderne Methoden. Anwendungen der Entwicklungsbiologie in Landwirtschaft, Produktion und Medizin. Keimbahn und Soma. Molekulare Grundlagen der Zelldifferenzierung. Links-rechts-Asymmetrie. Entwicklungspathologie (z.B. Tumorbiologie) und Altern. Entwicklungsgenetik von Pflanzen. Die Vorlesung bereitet u.a. den Stoff des Wahlpflichtpraktikums (im Sommersemester) und der Helgoland-Exkursion vor und ergänzt ihn. Freiwillige Leistungsselbstkontrolle: Klausur.
