230178 Writing and Research (S) (SoSe 2024)

Contents, comment

In this class students will practice how to write coherent, cohesive, grammatically correct, and stylistically appropriate texts in academic and professional settings. Students will also intensively familiarize themselves with the editing process. In order to achieve these goals, students will evaluate print and online resources, use resources effectively and responsibly, produce texts in several different formats, and review the work of their peers on a regular basis. In this sense, the class aims to teach students to be confident and productive writers. Further, by reading and evaluating other writers’ texts, the course also teaches students to be more focused and attentive readers. Several sessions of this course will be devoted to essay writing.
