This seminar aims at providing an introduction to a variety of theoretical approaches practiced in linguistics. This will include historical linguistics, generative grammar, functional and cognitive linguistics and language typology, but we will also discuss sociolinguistic and pragmatic key concepts.
A reader with all the required readings will be provided and made available well before start of term.
