300186 Introduction to International Relations (Ü) (SoSe 2010)

Contents, comment

The International Relations course is divided into two parts. The first part (summer semester) deals with basic concepts, actors, and theories of international relations which are exemplified by a small integrated Security Council simulation (together with the parallel course). The second part (winter semester) changes the focus on processes and structures of international relations, with particular emphasis on problems of peace and war as well as globalization and global governance.

Bibliography

It is strongly recommended that students purchase the following textbook: John Baylis/Steve Smith/Patricia Owens (eds.), The Globalization of World Politics. An Introduction to International Relations. Oxford: Oxford University Press 2008 (4th ed.).
