Kafkas Erzählungen stehen prägnant für eine Richtung der Literatur des 20. Jahrhunderts, die mit einem Leser rechnet, der die Grenzen des Gewohnten und Gewöhnlichen überschreiten möchte und die Widerständigkeit eines Werks als intellektuelle Herausforderung betrachtet. Ihre Lektüre führt mitten hinein in die ästhetische Dimension von Literatur. Sie setzt die Aneignung hoher kultureller Kompetenzen voraus und liefert einen Schlüssel zum Verständnis der Moderne. In diesem BLOCKSEMINAR werden die beiden 'Meistererzählungen' "Das Urteil" und "Die Verwandlung" intensiv gelesen.

Vorausgesetzt wird die Kenntnis der beiden Erzählungen. Eine preiswerte Ausgabe (z.B. Reclam), in der markiert und notiert werden kann, muss sich im Besitz eines jeden Teilnehmers/einer jeden Teilnehmerin befinden.
