Leider können zur Zeit keine Proben in der Universität stattfinden. Sobald das Proben wieder mögliche ist, wird das folgende Konzertprogramm vorbereitet:
Giacomo Puccini: Messa di Gloria
Konzert: So., 14.11.2021
Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924) legte bereits im Alter von 21 Jahren die Messa di Gloria als Abschlussarbeit am Istituto Musicale Pacini seiner Heimatstadt Lucca vor. Es ist sein umfangreichstes Werk außerhalb der Opern. Den vertrauten Umgang mit festlicher Kirchenmusik verbindet er mit einem persönlichen musikalischen Stil, in dem sich schon seine besondere Erfindungsgabe für Melodien und Klänge zeigt, die sich auch später in der außerordentliche Meisterschaft seiner Opernmusik findet.
Dem Chor bieten beide Werke die überaus reizvolle Aufgabe einer umfang- und facettenreichen dramatisch-musikalischen Gestaltung.
Der Universitätschor wird diese Werke gemeinsam mit renommierten Solisten und erstmals mit den Bergischen Symphonikern aufführen.
