Die jüngsten Ansätze der Millennium Development Goals (2000-2015) und insbesondere die Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (2015-2030) streben einen umfassenden Wandel in den Ländern des Südens und des Nordens an und unterscheiden sich in verschiedener Hinsicht von Konzepten und Strategien der Entwicklungspolitik des 20. Jahrhunderts.
Das Seminar vermittelt einen Überblick über die verschiedenen theoretischen und konzeptionellen Ansätze in der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit und geht dabei auch auf die unterschiedlichen kritischen Positionen zu Entwicklungszusammenarbeit ein. Im weiteren Verlauf des Seminars stehen die MDGs und SDGs im Mittelpunkt der Betrachtung: Was ist von diesen Ansätzen zu halten und was unterscheidet die MDGs und SDGs voneinander? Welche Zwischenbilanz kann zu den SDGs gezogen werden, und wie hat sich Entwicklungszusammenarbeit verändert? Dazu wird mit Länderbeispielen - je nach Interesse der Seminarteilnehmer*innen - gearbeitet bzw. thematische Schwerpunkte, z.B. Armutsbekämpfung, gesetzt.
