The seminar is aimed at doctoral students from BGHS and neighbouring programs and disciplines who work with quantitative social (data) science methods and applications. Throughout the course, we will discuss ongoing research ideas, designs, and ongoing publication projects of researchers and students from Bielefeld University as well as invited guests. For instance, we will focus on aspects of data availability, model choice, research ethics, and publication strategies. We expect an active involvement and presentation of ongoing research projects by all participants. A seminar schedule will be assigned at the beginning of the course. An option to bundle selected sessions into a block format will be discussed with the participants. The seminar will be held in English.
