Ziel und Inhalt

Dieser Kurs baut auf den in MPH10 erworbenen Grundkenntnissen der Demografie auf. Er ist darauf gerichtet den Studierenden Fertigkeiten der Analyse von Individualdatensätzen mit SPSS-Syntax zu vermitteln. Dabei werden sowohl spezifisch demografische Methoden und Maße verwendet, als auch allgemeine Probleme der Analyse von Datensätzen behandelt. Inhaltliche Schwerpunkte sind dabei Fertilität, Mortalität, reproduktive Gesundheit und die Analyse von Altersstrukturen. Die Veranstaltung beruht zu zwei Dritteln aus Übungen. Verwendet werden Datensätze des Mikrozensus und der Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS).
