Die Veranstatlung richtet sich an Diplomanden und Doktoranden, die sich über aktuelle theoretische und methodisch orientierte Forschungen in der Demographie informieren möchten und zur Qualifikation in diesem Zusammenhnag eine eigene Arbeit beabsichtigen. Die behandelten Themen umfassen neben theoretischen und bevölkerungsstatistischen Fragestellungen auch die Präsentation empirischer Befunde demographischer Untersuchungen. Die Themen werden zu Beginn des Kolloquiums abgestimmt. Es wird deshalb um vorherige Rücksprache beim Veranstalter gebeten.

Die Inhalte der Veranstaltungen "Demographische Analyse- und Prognosemethoden" sowie der übrigen demographischen Lehrveranstaltungen sollten bekannt sein.
