Geschlechter- und migrationstheoretische Ansätze werden im Seminar in einer intersektionalen Perspektive systematisch auf die Fragestellung bezogen, welche Bilder von Migration, Migrant_innen und Geschlechterordnungen unter Migrationsbedingungen öffentliche, mediale, fachliche und (erziehungs-)wissenschaftliche Diskurse bestimmen, antreiben und durch diese zugleich re-produziert werden. Gegenstand der Seminararbeit sind Theorieangebote, anhand derer ethnisch und geschlechtlich codierte Ent-Fremdungsprozesse analysiert und dekonstruiert werden können.
Dabei sind der wissenschafts- und gegenstandstheoretischen ebenso wie der empirischen Zugänge viele. Das breite Spektrum dieser Zugänge soll im Seminar systematisch bearbeitet werden.
