Besonders spannend an meinem Studium ist, dass es jeden Tag ein neues Thema mit einer anderen juristischen Perspektive gibt. Wir befassen uns mit den drei Rechtsgebieten: Zivilrecht, Strafrecht und das öffentliche Recht. Fast täglich begegnet uns eine neue Fallkonstellation, ein neues Urteil oder einen neuen Meinungsstreit, den wir zuvor noch nicht auf dem Schirm hatten. Das ist unglaublich spannend. Ich möchte später gerne als Rechtsanwalt arbeiten.

The program opens up a wide range of career opportunities in various fields, such as:

Judge and Prosecutor: Graduates who successfully pass both state examinations can work as judges or prosecutors. These positions involve high-responsibility roles in the fields of adjudication and criminal prosecution.

Attorney and Notary: A common career path involves working as an attorney or notary. These professions enable graduates to advise and represent clients in legal matters.

Civil Servants: The opportunity to work as a senior civil servant opens the door for graduates to positions in the public sector where legal knowledge and administrative skills are in demand.

Corporate Legal Departments: Graduates also find employment in the legal departments of medium-sized and large companies, where they handle legal issues in a corporate context and minimize legal risks.

Academia and International Organizations: Another career path involves working in academia or international organizations. Here, graduates can apply and further develop their legal knowledge in a global context.

Access to the state exam programme is granted to those who have a suitable higher education entrance qualification (e.g. German ‘Abitur’).

Course start

Studies can be commenced in both winter and summer semesters.

Length and scope of studies

The standard period of studies is 10 semesters. Information on studying part time.

 

The study places are subject to admission restrictions (numerus clausus). You need to register online with the German Stiftung für Hochschulzulassung (Foundation for University Admission) (hochschulstart.de) and then apply to Bielefeld University within the currently applicable application deadlines.

Places are allocated in the so-called German ‘Dialogorientiertes Serviceverfahren (DoSV)’ (dialogue-oriented service procedure) and is carried out in several steps. If you accept an admission offer during this procedure, you can submit your application for enrolment within the set deadline.
