Bielefeld University offers one of the few study programmes German as a Foreign and Second Language (DaF/DaZ) in Germany, with everything from a Bachelor 's degree to a Master's degree in "DaF and German Studies" as well as a doctoral degree programme.
DaF/DaZ at Bielefeld University combines linguistic and cultural studies with pedagogy, preparing its students for language and cultural education in Germany and abroad. Students engage intensively with diverse topics of language acquisition and teaching, including language education for specialized and professional purposes as well as cultural aspects. By gaining practical, hands-on experience (e.g., through an internship) and learning a further language, students can complement their coursework. And international experiences are welcome! Bielefeld University actively supports ERASMUS-exchanges and internships abroad.
Graduates are ideally qualified for work in both the public and private education sectors, where they engage with diverse target groups in various learning contexts. The broad skills profile opens up a wide range of professional opportunities worldwide.
