Studied Educational Science, Sociology, Psychology and Hispanic Studies at the Universities of Trier and Bielefeld University; In 2007, awarded a Dr. phil. degree from Bielefeld University with a thesis on self-regulation in the learning process and the construction of knowledge in adults; since 2010, Rector’s Representative for Academic Continuing Education at Bielefeld University; Since 2017, Professor of Educational Science specialising in adult education and academic continuing education at the Faculty of Educational Science; since 2025, Academic Director of the Academy for University Continuing Education (AUW) at Bielefeld University.
