Professur für Digitale Medizin
Urs-Vito Albrecht is full Professor of Digital Medicine and heads the working group of the same name at the Faculty of Medicine OWL at Bielefeld University. Previously, he served as Deputy Director of the Hannover site of the PLRI and as Executive Physician and Chair of the Ethics Committee at Hannover Medical School (MHH).
After studying medicine at MHH, he completed his doctorate (Dr. med.) in the field of forensic medicine. In addition to his professional activities in clinical and non-clinical disciplines, Dr. Albrecht earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) with a focus on public health ethics and epidemiology and completed a doctoral degree (Dr. PH) in public health. In 2017, MHH awarded him the Venia Legendi in “Medical Informatics,” and in 2020, he was appointed Adjunct Professor.
His research focuses include the ethical and legal aspects of digital medicine, quality aspects of mHealth, and space health.
Dr. Albrecht is the author of more than 300 publications in the fields of medicine, health sciences, and medical informatics. He has been appointed to several national and European expert committees on eHealth/mHealth. In the course of his work, he has received various national and international awards
