230523 How to Make a Dictionary (S) (SoSe 2006)

In this course (part of Basismodul 2 "Essentials of English Linguistics")
we will be looking chiefly at the vocabulary of English, but from the point of
view of some of the things you need to know in order to write a dictionary.
This will start with a look at some current dictionaries and how they are
structured and will cover the central areas of word formation, lexicography,
and semantics.

Students will be expected to participate actively by doing the reading and
exercises assigned. There will be a mid-term and a final test.
