Neben der Vermittlung von normativen Grundkenntnissen des StVollzG und des StVollzG NRW soll die Vorlesung schwerpunktmäßig Einblicke in die Praxis des Strafvollzugs ermöglichen.
Die abstrakt-theoretischen Inhalte der Vorlesung werden durch Fallbeispiele und eigene Erfahrungen u.a. aus der langjährigen Arbeit mit Strafgefangengen ergänzt. Es werden Exkursionen in verschiedene Strafvollzugseinrichtungen angeboten. Zudem werden Praktiker*innen aus dem Strafvollzug von ihrem beruflichen Tätigkeitsfeld berichten.
Ziel der Veranstaltung ist es, den Studierenden den Strafvollzug in Deutschland sowohl normativ wie auch – durch verschiedene Perspektiven – tatsächlich vorzustellen.
Eine Klausur (SPB 8 Bereich 1) wird angeboten.

Grundkenntnisse des strafrechtlichen Sanktionsrechts sind von Vorteil.
