Was sollen wir lesen? Diese Frage ist mit Blick auf die Kinder- und Jugendliteratur besonders herausfordernd, hat Kanonisierung im eigentlichen Sinne für die Kinder- und Jugendliteratur doch lange Zeit kaum stattgefunden. Die Frage ist aber auch deswegen gerade besonders spannend, weil der Diskurs sich rasant weiter entwickelt hat: Wessen Stimmen werden gehört, wessen Geschichten werden erzählt und wessen nicht? Wie umgehen mit kanonisierten Texten, die sich ganz offenbar an eine weiße Mittelschicht richten? Wie Platz schaffen für mehr Repräsentation und Diversität? Im Seminar werden wir zunächst grundlegend die Mechanismen von Kanonisierung kennenlernen, um dann theoriegeleitet sehr offen zu diskutieren: Was sollen wir lesen? Muss, was Kanon ist, auch Kanon bleiben?
