Was ist Kultur? Nach Geert Hofstede sei Kultur eine mentale Programmierung und lasse sich auf fünf Dimensionen analysieren. Alexander Thomas glaubt, dass jede nationale Kultur in Kulturstandards zusammengefasst werde. Klaus P. Hansen vertritt die Meinung, dass sich Kultur aus Standardisierung, Kommunikation und Kollektivität zusammensetze. Clifford Geertz sieht Kultur als ein selbstgesponnenes Bedeutungsgewebe an. Oder einfach: "No one knows what culture is. It happens to you."
