Das Seminar beschäftigt sich mit einigen grundlegenden Fragen zur Religion in der Neuzeit:
Wir werden uns mit begriffsgeschichtlichen Methoden fragen, was eigentlich "Religion" in der europäischen Neuzeit bedeutet. Mit religionswissenschaftlichen Fragen werden wir dann eine Typologie europäischer Religionen erstellen und uns mit neuen Forschungen zu Religion, Magie, Esoterik und alternativem Wissen beschäftigen. Wir werden dann mit diskurstheoretischen Ansätzen untersuchen, wie sich Religion von anderen Wissensformen absetzte oder sich mit ihnen überlappte. Abschließend werden wir uns fragen, wie sich Religion in Europa eigentlich gewandelt hat.
