Das Alte Testament enthält insgesamt 39 Schriften, die jedoch gerade für Studienanfängerinnen und -anfänger häufig fremd sind und unübersichtlich erscheinen.
Dieses Seminar soll dabei helfen, sich dem Text des AT (in der Übersetzung nach Martin Luther) anzunähern, sich einen Überblick zu verschaffen und sich besser in ihm zurecht zu finden.
Behandelt werden jeweils der Inhalt, der Aufbau und die theologischen Schwerpunkte der einzelnen alttestamentlichen Bücher.

Die Teilnahme an der Veranstaltung ersetzt nicht die Lektüre der Bibel selbst! Erwartet wird deshalb die Bereitschaft zur Lektüre der ausgewählten alttestamentlichen Bücher.
Der Nachweis der aktiven Teilnahme ist durch eine Beteiligung in den Sitzungen und die Teilnahme an den Gruppenarbeiten und Diskussionen zu erbringen.
Ein Modulabschluss ist in Form einer mündlichen Prüfung möglich.
