In den letzten Jahren erobern zusehends Heldinnen die Screens, der großen Film- und Serienproduktionen: Nori Brandyfoot, Ahsoka Tano, Harley Quinn, Lara Croft, Diana Prince, Katniss Everdeen, Alita, Rey, Anna und Elsa, Carol Danvers, Selina Kyle, Alice Kingsley, Natasha Romanoff, Jane Ives (Eleven), Molly Patel, Barbie Roberts und viele mehr. Was zeichnet die Rolle der Heldin, des Helden grundsätzlich aus? Wie unterscheiden sich die aktuellen Heldinnen von ihren männlichen Pendants? Bleibt Heldentum eine männliche Phantasie? Inwiefern unterscheiden sich die aktuellenHeldinnen von ihren Vorgängerinnen wie Ellen Ripley, Sarah Connor, Nikita, Jackie Brown, Erin Brokovich, Thelma und Louise, Clarice Starling oder wie unterscheiden sie sich von Beispielen des klassischen Hollwood wie Traci Samantha Lord, Mary Poppins, Dorothy Shaw und Lorelei Lee, Scarlett O'Hara. In diesem Seminar untersuchen wir mit Hilfe der Qualitativen Medienforschung das Rollenbild der weiblichen Heldin, um den Blick für eigene geschlechtersensible Produktionen zu schärfen. Lernziele sind dabei die Reflexion von Rollenbildern in Filmen sowie das Kennenlernen analytischer Forschungsmethoden.
