The number of genetically informed studies has been constantly increasing for some years, also in sociology. This seminar will introduce the theoretical and also the methodological foundations of genetically informed research designs. Besides discussing the question why sociology should also deal with the role of genetic influences - and in particular the interplay of genetic and environmental influences - the interpretation of such influences and their possible meanings will be critically reflected.
