In diesem Seminar beschäftigen wir uns mit den theoretischen Annahmen und praktischen Konzepten von vermeintlichen Klassiker*innen der Sozialen Arbeit. Wen man als solche*n bezeichnen kann und warum wird im Seminar ebenso diskutiert wie die Frage, inwiefern die Überlegungen dieser Ansätze für heutige Soziale Arbeit relevant sind. Somit erarbeiten wir uns über die Lektüre der Originaltexte der Klassiker*innen (z.B. Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi, Johann Hinrich Wichern, Alice Salomon, Gertrud Bäumer, Klaus Mollenhauer) sowohl einen Zugang zu historischen Formen Sozialer Arbeit und ihren wissenschaftlichen Begründungen und fachlichen Problematisierungen (Klient*innenbild, Zielsetzungen, Gesellschaftsbegriff usw.) sowie in der Reflexion auf heutige Existenzformen Sozialer Arbeit ein Wissen über zentrale aktuelle Spannungsfelder und ihre Entwicklungen. Es handelt sich um ein stark lektürebasiertes Seminar, die Bereitschaft zum regelmäßigen Lesen auch umfangreicherer Texte muss also vorhanden sein. Alle Texte werden den Teilnehmenden bereitgestellt.
