Im Seminar werden, ausgehend von den spezifischen Anforderungen im Grundschulunterricht im Fach Deutsch, zentrale Aspekte und Phänomenbereiche der Grammatik und Orthographie besprochen. Dieses sprachsystematische Wissen dient dazu, fundierte Urteile über Unterrichtsmaterial bilden zu können und auf Basis linguistischer Grundlagen fachdidaktische Entscheidungen zu fällen.
