241420 Representations of hereditary algebras (VÜA) (SoSe 2018)

Contents, comment

The representation theory of hereditary algebras is a rich subject, with connections to many other areas of mathematics, including Lie algebras and quantum groups, algebraic geometry, and combinatorics.
In this course we will study some of the basic theory, developing the necessary theory to classify the representations over the so-called tame hereditary algebras. This can be seen as a far-reaching extension of the simplest cases, that of a discrete valuation domain, or more generally a principal ideal domain.

The binding module descriptions contain further information, including specifications on the "types of assignments" students need to complete. In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
