230654 Imitationen des Tristram Shandy: transkulturell und transmedial (S) (SoSe 2018)

Contents, comment

Die assoziationsgeleitete Schreibweise des "Tristram Shandy" (1759-1767) und Laurence Sternes Humor machten den Roman in Großbritannien, aber auch im deutschen Sprachraum schnell bekannt. Wir ergänzen die Lektüre des Tristram Shandy durch die Beschäftigung mit der Verfilmung von Michael Winterbottom (2005), mit dem Hörspiel von Karl Bruckmaier (2015) und Seitenblicken auf die "Sentimental Journey through France and Italy". Außerdem befassen wir uns mit Ausschnitten aus deutschsprachigen Imitationen der Aufklärungszeit u.a. von Johann Karl Wezel, Johanna Isabella von Wallenrodt und Friedrich Nicolai.
Am Rande werden Konzepte der Transkulturalität und der Transmedialität zur Sprache kommen.

Bibliography

Als Textgrundlage empfohlen wird das englische Original (Oxford Classics) und die deutsche Übersetzung von Siegfried Schmitz, die auf der historischen Übersetzung von Johann Joachim Bode basiert. Sie ist antiquarisch erhältlich.
