Im Rahmen der Vorlesung sollen ausgehend von den sich im Kontext der Moderne verändernden Lebensbedingungen von Kindern und Jugendlichen die Anforderungen an das System der Jugendhilfe als ein spezifisches wohlfahrtsstaatliches Leistungssegment für Kinder, Jugendliche, junge Erwachsene und ihre Familien dargestellt werden und gesellschaftstheoretisch eingeordnet werden. Vor dem Hintergrund der Zielsetzung der Jugendhilfe, junge Menschen in ihrer individuellen und sozialen Entwicklung zu fördern, durch soziale Arbeit Benachteiligungen zu vermeiden und abzubauen, sowie Sorge zu tragen für positive Lebensbedingungen und eine kinder- und familienfreundliche Umwelt sollen neben grundlegenden Einblicken in unterschiedliche Handlungsfelder und Organisationsformen der Jugendhilfe auch spezifische gesellschaftliche Problemlagen thematisiert werden.

Die Veranstaltung wird zu zwei verschiedenen Zeiten angeboten. Es besteht die Möglichkeit die Veranstaltung entweder am Montag von 12-14 Uhr oder 16-18 Uhr zu besuchen.
