Das Seminar findet z.T. digital, live zur genannten Zeit & z.T. digital, im Selbststudium (online synchron/asynchron) statt.
Anhand von Biografien (u. a. Dora von Caemmerer, Ruth Bang, Cornelia Baltussen) und Institutionen (u. a. Jugendamt, Bewährungshilfe, Erwachsenenbildung) soll die frühe Geschichte der Supervision in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland bis etwa 1970 rekonstruiert werden. Diese ist nur im Zusammenhang mit der Einführung des Social Casework als neuer Methode der Sozialen Arbeit zu verstehen und in den transatlantischen Dialog über Demokratie, Humanismus, Psychoanalyse und Emanzipation aber auch Ökonomisierung einzuordnen. Dabei wird deutlich, dass die Supervision durch Professionalisierungsarbeit Einfluss auf die beratenen Organisationen und Institutionen nahm.
