220116 Eigendynamische Prozesse im Verhältnis von Religion und Geschlecht in der Vormoderne (S) (SoSe 2022)

Short comment

Titel ist sehr vorläufig und wird noch geändert! Veranstaltung wird in Teilen gemeinsam mit Feranda Alfieri, Universität Bologna, auf Englisch durchgeführt.

Contents, comment

The period between the 11th and 18th century is generally considered to be a time of low dynamics compared to the 19th and 20th centuries. The seminar has set itself the goal of asking whether this supposedly immobile society does not have its own specific dynamics, which brought about its own changes. It suggests itself to look there for once for the city as - at least in the modern age - a place of special dynamics also in the pre-modern age. At the same time, however, changes in the fields of 'religion' and 'gender relations', which are usually considered to be rather less 'flexible', will be investigated.

Parts of the seminar will be conducted together with Fernanda Alfieri, Bologna. Ms. Alfieri is an acknowledged expert in the field of gender studies and the history of religion in the early modern period.

The discussion in the seminar will be conducted in English. However, the ability to read texts in German is a prerequisite.
