This course will build on the speaking practice gained in the course English Intermediate B1. While the focus for students at the A2 level was on talking about themselves and their studies, the focus on the B1 is expanded to take in topics of current interest or concern and to give students greater confidence in more challenging speaking situations.
Starting out with pair- or team-based activities participants will gradually be led to face tasks in which they have to speak singly. The learning objectives for the course include:
- Vocabulary building for a variety of topics
- Phrase building for select situations
- Dealing with errors
- ‘survival strategies’ and confidence boosters
