260010 Sinn, Bedeutung, Bekanntschaft: Die Sprachphilosophie von Frege und Russell (S) (SoSe 2019)

Kaum jemand hat die Entwicklung der Sprachphilosophie so sehr beeinflusst wie Gottlob Frege (1848–1925) und Bertrand Russell (1872-1970). Im Seminar wollen wir einige ausgewählte klassische Aufsätze dieser Philosophen lesen und diskutieren. Im Vordergrund sollen dabei Fragen stehen wie z.B.: Was ist sprachliche Bedeutung? Wie hängen sprachliche Bedeutung und Referenz zusammen? In welchem Verhältnis stehen Bedeutung und Wahrheit? Was muss man wissen, um Ausdrücke zu verstehen?

Empfohlene Vorkenntnisse:
Abschluss des ersten Studienjahres (beide Grundkurse, Philosophischer Einstieg und Philosophisches Schreiben).

Für das Seminar sind keine sprachphilosophischen Vorkenntnisse nötig. Hilfreich ist eine vage Erinnerung an den Logikkurs. Freges Texte sind auf Deutsch, die von Russell werden wir auf Englisch lesen.
