The scientific landscape of modern industrial nations like Germany is based on three parts: university, industrial and non-university research. As the institutionalization of science and technology - or "technoscience" - is an important aspect of this process, the seminar asks for the specific conditions and interdependencies in 20th century Germany. This thematic focus is combined with new theoretical and methodical access of the field of the history of science and technology, which allows us a deeper understanding of the institutionalization of science an technology in this period.
