Die Vorlesung Computer Vision behandelt Methoden zur Interpretation von
Einzelbildern und Bildfolgen. Über die letzten 40 Jahre hat sich das Computer-Sehen als eigene Fachdisziplin etabliert, die neben der KI parallele Wurzeln in der Mustererkennung und Signalverarbeitung hat. Heutzutage sind Computer-Vision-Techniken in der Lage Objekte in komplexen Umgebungen wieder zuerkennen, diese trotz Verdeckungen über die Zeit hinweg zu verfolgen, Bewegungen eines Menschen zu interpretieren, autonome Fahrzeuge zu lokalisieren und zu navigieren, Dokumente und Handschrift zu erkennen oder die Struktur und Form
eines Raumes/Objektes zu rekonstruieren. In dem Modul werden Grundlagen aus verschiedenen Bereichen des Computer-Sehens vermittelt. Ein Schwerpunkt liegt dabei auf der Interpretation von Szenen und menschlichen Handlungen. Neben unterschiedlichen Ansätzen zur Objekterkennung und Szenekategorisierung wird dabei auf die Verfolgung von starren und artikulierten Objekten eingegangen, sowie auf die Modellierung von Kontextinformation. Schließlich werden noch Aspekte des aktiven Roboter-Sehens behandelt.
Vorkenntnisse in den Bereichen Bildverarbeitung, Musterklassifikation oder Neuronale Netze sind wünschenswert.
