996002 Academic Writing - The Basics (K) (SoSe 2008)

This workshop is meant to help academics with their writing needs in English. The ideal participant has an English text that he/she wants to publish but knows that it needs some polishing.
Depending on the needs of course members, the workshop will deal these areas: word order and information structure; introductions, writing about a topic, review of research, writing about visual information, expressing degrees of certainity; writing about results; drawing conclusions; writing abstracts.
To pull all these aspects together, there will be a review of the dos and don`ts of academic writing, and handout with references to useful materials, both printed and electronic.
Es werden 6 Jahre Englisch(unterricht) vorausgesetzt.
