250256 Diversity, inclusion and inclusive practices as global challenge for educational systems (S) (WiSe 2021/2022)

Contents, comment

This course introduces inclusion and diversity in different national and cultural contexts based on different approaches.

As a theoretical basis an overview of and a reflection about different ideas of inclusion and inclusion practices is given. Proceeding from this basis onwards, the course then offers an outline of the historical and recent developments of diversity in different countries around the world.

Hence different educational systems are analyzed with and by the students. Also, they are expected to engage critically in these topics through readings and to take part in a lively joined reflection.

Furthermore, students discuss in several formats their knowledge of regional education systems in these systems and respond to the following questions: Are diversity and inclusion addressed in human rights and law? And how are they related to educational and societal processes?

The course is mainly held in English. Nevertheless German is also possible as language of exchange and for statements and reflection written by the students.
