This module focuses on the theories of cognitive systems that govern human motor action. Following a brief introduction to the development of cognitive system theories to its current understanding, we will strongly focus on the role of attention in motor control. Additionally, we will discuss the role of higher cognitive building blocks in controlling actions. Both main topics are highly relevant for various areas of research as well as for the applied field dealing with motor control and performance.
The module will be held partly in English. The students will be required to write a short research paper, give a short presentation, and discuss current research articles in English.
