996005 Academic Writing (S) (SoSe 2010)

This class is for all those members of the BGHS who are currently working on academic texts in English – e.g. articles, posters, theses, thesis or grant proposals, or letters of application or invitation. The main purpose of the course is to make students become more aware of how to construct a coherent argument, of how to decide what is important and what is not, and how to express this in appropriate English, i.e. of how to put their ideas into grammatically and lexically correct sentences. The focus will be on students’ own writing - so, make sure to have a text or two ready for discussion in class!
