Viele Stoffe zeigen toxische Wirkungen auf den Menschen und der Umwelt. Pharmaka, Agrochemikalien, Lebensmittel- und Kosmetikzusätze und industrielle Produkte müssen toxikologisch bewertet werden. Andauernde oder überdosierte Nutzung, ihre Emissionund Exposition sind ggf. zu minimieren. Das Seminar wird die Themenbereiche der Toxikologie, den biochemischen Wirkmechanismen und ökotoxischen Effekten erscgließen. Stoffgruppen und ihre molekulare Wirkung werden in Seminarvorträgen vorgestellt und diskutiert, beispielsweise Antibiotika, Herz- und Kreislaufmedikamente, Cytostatika, Weichmacher, Konservierungsmittel, Nanomaterialien und Schwermetalle. Das Seminar kann ergänzend zur Vorlesung gleichen Themas oder als eigenständige Veranstaltung belegt werden.
