Research projects using qualitative methods are characterized by the fact that theory and empiricism interlock with each other in different ways at several points in the research process. Many methods have a strong theoretical background (keyword “theory-method packages”), so many methods come with a specific theoretical framework anyway. Above all, qualitative studies aim at theoretical statements and at generating new knowledge.
This research class is dedicated to the interconnections between theory and empirical analysis that studies with qualitative methods encounter.
The class takes place in English.
